Expense has been spared at Puerto de la Cruz’s El Caletón; at what’s essentially a beach shack. So expect plastic chairs and tables at this bar-restaurant, as well as excellent Atlantic views. This makes a visit to the Punta de Jandia, one of Fuerteventura’s more deserted spots, even more rewarding.
Sit outside on El Caletón’s terrace for sea spray or under the canopy for greater protection from sun and wind. As well as fish whose journey from ocean to dish is shorter than most, the local white wine’s a great meal partner.
