Sin embargo, los cataneses tambi\u00e9n tienen mucho que ofrecer en esta \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o para un disfrute m\u00e1ximo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnevaleacireale.it\/en\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Carnaval de Acireale<\/strong><\/a> (del 17 de febrero al 5 de marzo de 2019) es un sensacional ejemplo de c\u00f3mo Sicilia puede convertirse en un destino que despierta gran inter\u00e9s y fascinaci\u00f3n, tambi\u00e9n en esta \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>El de <strong>Acireale<\/strong> suele considerarse como <strong>el carnaval m\u00e1s hermoso de Sicilia<\/strong> (y como uno de los tres primeros a nivel nacional). Al igual que el de Viareggio, se caracteriza por un desfile de <strong>carrozas decoradas<\/strong> con elaboradas creaciones de cart\u00f3n piedra que, a menudo, representan a personajes de la vida pol\u00edtica, m\u00e1scaras tradicionales o caras conocidas del mundo del espect\u00e1culo.<\/p>\n<p>Las carrozas que pueden admirarse en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.es\/maps\/place\/95024+Acireale+CT\/@37.6282315,15.0924413,12z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x1313f8fda26d47e7:0xcfd16fe71bf00a0b!8m2!3d37.607802!4d15.166736?hl=it&amp;authuser=0\" target=\"_blank\">Acireale<\/a> durante el carnaval se encuentran entre las m\u00e1s elaboradas del mundo y, a menudo, cuentan con sofisticados artilugios mec\u00e1nicos, hidr\u00e1ulicos y de iluminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Las celebraciones vinculadas al carnaval tienen en la isla unos or\u00edgenes muy antiguos y todo apunta a que el de Acireale es, de lejos, el m\u00e1s veterano de los carnavales italianos.<\/p>\n<p>El primer documento oficial sobre esta fiesta del que se tiene constancia es de 1594. Por su parte, una de las m\u00e1scaras m\u00e1s famosas del carnaval de Acireale, que lleva por nombre <strong>Abbatazzu<\/strong>, data de 1667.
