La piedra es un elemento omnipresente. Sobre el litoral, le ha dado forma a los abruptos acantilados, a las calas paradis\u00edacas y hasta a puertos naturales, como <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmalta.com\/es\/valletta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Valeta<\/a> o <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmalta.com\/es\/info\/marsaxlokk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marsaxlokk<\/a>. Gracias a la abundante cantidad de roca, los caballeros alzaron fortalezas, palacios, catedrales y albergues incre\u00edbles con una arquitectura caracter\u00edstica. La historia de la isla es tan antigua que se han descubierto estructuras megal\u00edticas anteriores a las pir\u00e1mides de Egipto, clasificadas, como era de esperar, por la Unesco.
