The famous Strasbourg is both a European capital and a Christmas capital. We have already had the opportunity to encourage you to visit the French town when the large Christmas tree on Place Kl\u00e9ber is lit up and when all the streets and alleyways in the town centre become illuminated (https:\/\/volare.volotea.com\/fr\/rincon\/noel-quand-strasbourg-rayonne\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Do you enjoy \u201cChristmas markets\u201d with an authentic feel? We suggest taking a leaf from the book of enthusiasts of local traditions: spend a day in Germany! Several towns are worth a visit at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Gengenbach, typical and magical<\/strong><\/p>\n

We recommend a stopover at Gengenbach, a charming village in the Ortenau region. Its advent calendar on the fa\u00e7ade of the town hall and its local stalls will make you want to continue the festivities in one of the local restaurants. We recommend Gasthof Hirsch<\/a>, which is also a hotel. For anything else, the atmosphere will guide you.<\/p>\n

Mulled wine and wood-fired trout<\/strong><\/p>\n

The must-see Christmas market is the market in Baden-Baden(https:\/\/volare.volotea.com\/en\/rincon\/baden-baden-romantic-stopover\/?hilite=baden<\/a>). If you arrive in the spa town by car, you can park underneath the Casino (one of the most stunning in the world). When you come out, you will discover an authentic Christmas market with artisan stalls. If you\u2019re feeling peckish, you can choose between a local \u201csausage\u201d or a piece of wood-fired salmon or trout.<\/p>\n

You should also indulge in some mulled wine. If it is offered \u201cMit Schuss\u201d, you should know that this means it is strengthened with an additional spirit (you will consume all this in moderation, of course).<\/p>\n

Cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Freiburg, you can let the city-centre streets take you up and down from stall to stall. Naturally, the town has alleyways where you will want nothing more but to get lost and indulge in the festivities. You can wander between Freiburger Rathausplatz, Kartoffelmarkt, in Unterlinden, Franziskanerstra\u00dfe and Turmstra\u00dfe. Once again, a red sausage of Freiburg, a few chestnuts and some mulled wine can only add to the festive spirit.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a different kind of Christmas, full of experiences and emotions, which will complement your stay between Vosges and the Black Forest.<\/p>\n
