Talayots: the cyclopean towers<\/strong><\/h2>\nTalayots<\/strong> are circular or square megalithic tower-like structures, built without mortar from large blocks of limestone, up to five metres high and 25-30m in diameter. Erected between the 9th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> centuries BC, they were used as observation points, community centres and possibly ceremonial sites.<\/p>\nThe main talayots and settlements<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n- The Talayotic settlement of Trepuc\u00f3<\/strong> (Mah\u00f3n): covering an area of around 49,240m\u00b2, this is one of the largest on Menorca.
