As a romantic destination on the edge of the Black Forest, the town has attracted plenty of aristocratic tourists including Queen Victoria, Emperor William I, Napoleon III and Dostoyevsky. Today, whether you spend a day at the spa or go sight-seeing in the town, you\u2019re sure to have a great time.<\/p>\n

Most visitors arrive in Baden by car. Personally, I would suggest that you park your car either by the Friedrichsbad<\/a> and Caracalla Baths <\/a>(Rotenbachtalstrasse, 76530 Baden-Baden \u2013 Badergarage), or by the Casino in the town centre.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve chosen to visit the baths, you\u2019re bound to have a whale of a time. Both will be pleased to welcome you and will encourage you to make full use of their facilities. The 4,000 m\u00b2 Caracalla Baths, harking back to Roman bathing traditions, combined with the Irish hot air hot baths of Friedrichsbad are prime examples of the focus on good health through water.<\/p>\n

Beneficial for the mind and the body<\/b><\/p>\n

Water is everywhere in Baden Baden. You can\u2019t miss it in a series of naturally-occurring springs which you\u2019ll come across as you explore the town.<\/p>\n

My favourite is the Fett spring which flows between two pools below a sandstone staircase. You can drink its 63\u00b0C water, which is said to be good for the mind and the body.<\/p>\n

The old town offers both tradition and modernity. When you leave the baths, I recommend enjoying a slice of Black Forest gateau at Caf\u00e9 Koenig.<\/p>\n

In the mood for something more filling? There are plenty of restaurants. What about Rizzi <\/a>– a fashionable place for fans of fine dining; it\u2019s advisable to book here. If you want something more typical, try
\nthe Lowenbrau tavern,<\/a> where waiters and waitresses wear traditional costumes.<\/p>\n

Place your bets!<\/b><\/p>\n

The day\u2019s not over yet. You should definitely take a stroll down Lichtentaler Allee, both to explore the town and its gardens but also to enjoy drink at the bar in Brenner’s Park Hotel. One of the most luxurious hotels in town, its bar offers exceptional cocktails at affordable prices.<\/p>\n

Once you leave, you can visit the Casino… Men, don\u2019t forget your ties before experiencing one of the most beautiful casinos in the world. Enjoy it – the place is unique. Place your bets!<\/p>\n

You won\u2019t manage to see everything in Baden in a single day. You\u2019ll want to come back for its opera, its Burda and Faberg\u00e9 museums – next time. However much you see, the town is bound to charm you.<\/p>\n
