As they are locals, we\u2019ve asked them a few questions about what they think of your next destination and if they have any recommendations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hello Massimo and Lucio, how are you? Thank you for answering a few questions for us.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All good, thanks! We\u2019re so excited since\u00a0our new album Bar Mediterraneo\u00a0is out\u00a0!!! \u00a0And\u00a0we can&#8217;t wait to start touring again \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How would you introduce Nu Genea to Volotea passengers who might not know you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re two musicians and djs, strongly rooted to our own culture from Napoli but always keen in connecting different people and exploring new music boundaries.\u00a0<br \/>We love to research music from the past, some people\u00a0call us \u201c<em>crate diggers<\/em>\u201d, and we ride through dusty basements all over the world\u00a0to discover forgotten music gems on vinyl format.\u00a0Neapolitan is the language we use for most of our songs, and we blend it with\u00a0funk, soul and disco music from the 70s and 80s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We were really excited to hear that you were going to release your new album after four years. How was the creation of this new album? What has been going on for you the last few years?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After our last LP <em>Nuova Napoli<\/em>, which was a proper focus on our hometown, we felt like we wanted to expand the radius:\u00a0Napoli\u2019s culture, music and dialect have been strongly shaped by other Mediterranean people and we tried to show\u00a0this\u00a0encounter through our music, collaborating for example, with a Tunisian artist called Marzouk Mejri and the French singer C\u00e9lia Kameni.<br \/>Moreover, also going around and digging records from North Africa, Spain, France and of course from our hometown Napoli, played an important role in the inspirational part of the composition process of the album.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"799\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Nu-Genea-Credits-GENNARO-CANAGLIA.jpg?resize=640%2C799&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"nu genea local hero napoli\" class=\"wp-image-18775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Nu-Genea-Credits-GENNARO-CANAGLIA.jpg?resize=820%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 820w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Nu-Genea-Credits-GENNARO-CANAGLIA.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Nu-Genea-Credits-GENNARO-CANAGLIA.jpg?resize=768%2C959&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Nu-Genea-Credits-GENNARO-CANAGLIA.jpg?w=1025&amp;ssl=1 1025w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Since we watched the documentary you\u2019re involved in, Napoli Futura, we\u2019ve been eager to hear your personal recommendations of Naples. Could you name your top 3 restaurants and your top 3 bars?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We usually prefer to eat in modest yet amazing \u201ctrattorie\u201d located in the historic city center: Gnocchi alla Sorrentina at Lo spiedo d&#8217;oro and Polpette at Osteria della Mattonella worth a mention. But we also recommend a stop over <a href=\"https:\/\/sudristorante.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sud ristorante<\/a>, where chef Marianna Vitale gives her sophisticated and coloured\u00a0twist\u00a0to our classic dishes. You finally must visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mimiallaferrovia.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mim\u00ec alla ferrovia<\/a>, close to the train station, Mimi is the ambassador of Neapolitan traditional cuisine.<br \/>We like to have\u00a0aperitivo at Fonoteca in the Vomero area (they also have a selection of records), after dinner at L&#8217;Antiquario for a classy atmosphere\u00a0or Perditempo for a chatty evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Is there a local dish and \/ or drink that you\u2019d suggest trying out?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pasta alla Genovese is the thing!!! Of course get a nice \u201climoncello\u201d to end the meal. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What art galleries and \/ or museums should we not miss if visiting your region?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our region is full of\u00a0archaeological and artistical sites. In Napoli we recommend visiting nice galleries such as\u00a0Alfonso Artiaco, Lia Rumma and\u00a0Fondazione Morra Greco, in addition to The Museum\u00a0of Capodimonte and The National Archaeological Museum. Just outside Napoli, you can&#8217;t miss Pompei ruins, obviously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where would you go for a nice walk and perhaps watch a romantic Neapolitan sunset?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, surely walking along\u00a0the<em>\u00a0Lungomare of Mergellina<\/em> is an amazing experience:\u00a0you can\u00a0feel the salty sea water, watch the Vesuvius and Castel dell\u2019Ovo. And if you&#8217;re hungry,\u00a0take a stop by at food trucks to get a few taralli and lupini.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And when the weather is hotter, which beach do you recommend for a refreshing swim?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marechiaro village is lovely and it has inspired our song \u201cMarechi\u00e0\u201d.<br \/>Take a kayak from the guys at \u201cKayak Napoli\u201d and visit the natural reservoir of \u201cGajola\u201d and \u201cTrentaremi\u201d. Don\u2019t forget to\u00a0bring along with you on the beach your nice panino with mozzarella and tomato.\u00a0For\u00a0a more relaxing journey,\u00a0you can get to \u201cAcque\u00a0Minerali\u201d spot\u00a0by a boat from the village of Marechiaro.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nu Genea - Marechi\u00e0 (with C\u00e9lia Kameni) [Official Video]\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N1FDkTO7D_0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When the sun goes down, which would be a good place to go for a dance or watch a live band?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During summer, there are several beaches for listening to music: reach the Coroglio area and you have many options.\u00a0As indoor clubs, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/duelbeat.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Duel<\/a> for live\u00a0concerts and to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basiclub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Basic<\/a> for dj parties!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You\u2019re professional crate diggers, what flea markets and record stores are good for searching Neapolitan music?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can go to the flea market at Ippodromo di Agnano on Sundays! Go in the early morning to find the gems \ud83d\ude42 be sure to have rent a car!<br \/>We usually like to even go crazier and just drive to nowhere and ask people around, where to find records.
