Thanks for taking the time to come and chat with us while you and your band are on tour! You\u2019ve been busy these past few years, releasing multiple hit albums (<em>With Julia, Play Me Again, Lovers\u2026<\/em>) and your tours have been huge successes both in France and abroad. Some of your songs have even appeared in different ad campaigns for companies like Chanel, Lanvin, and many more. But anyway, how would you describe yourself to readers of Volare Magazine who still don\u2019t know who you are?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m a musician from Marseille, and I\u2019d say I produce electro-pop music. Electro because I mainly use machines, synthesisers and drum machines, which make what I produce sound more electronic, and pop because the most important element of my music is the melody, which defines pop music for me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You\u2019re originally from Marseille. Marseille is more generally associated with hip-hop, but your sound is more electro-pop. Despite that, do you think Marseille has had an influence on your music in some way?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, especially on my last album, \u2018Lovers\u2019. We\u2019d just finished a huge tour for \u2018Play me Again\u2019, which took us all over the world for a really long time. We were on tour for two years, making our way through Indonesia, South Korea, China, Turkey, Lebanon, South Africa, and lots of different places in Europe. And on this tour, every time we went back to Marseille, it was so healing for me and let me see the beauty of my home town: the sun, the sea, the light&#8230; It made me realise how lucky I was to live here, and I think that shows on the album. It\u2019s the album of a musician who\u2019s spent time in the sun, watching the sea.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kid Francescoli - &quot;Moon&quot; (Official Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fdixQDPA2h0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Let\u2019s talk a little bit about Marseille. We\u2019re curious about your favourite spots, and if you have anywhere to recommend. For example, where would you tell music lovers to go if they wanted to see bands perform live in Marseille? And where would you go if you wanted to go out dancing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of concert venues, I\u2019d say <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cabaret-aleatoire.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">le Cabaret Al\u00e9atoire<\/a>, I recently saw Odezenne there. Or even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espace-julien.com\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">l\u2019Espace Julien<\/a>, we just performed there and it was a really intense experience, as always. There are also some incredible festivals such as <a href=\"https:\/\/marsatac.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Marsatac<\/a>, Le Bon Air or Avec Le Temps. There are also lots of amazing places and rooftops (like the one at La Friche, for example), if you want to enjoy some music this summer. Marseille has changed a lot over the past few years in that sense, it\u2019s really nice to have lots of different places to go to in the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Are there any good exhibitions or art galleries you\u2019d suggest seeing at the moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I haven\u2019t been in Marseille much recently, but I\u2019ve heard loads about the immersive exhibition on the Mona Lisa at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marseille.fr\/culture\/patrimoine-culturel\/le-palais-de-la-bourse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Palais de la Bourse<\/a>, and there\u2019s also the Mus\u00e9e Cantini, the Frac, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mucem.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Le Mucem<\/a>. The Carri\u00e8res de Lumi\u00e8res in Baux-de-Provence and the Caumont Hotel in Aix, which I really like, are located around the outskirts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If a friend came to visit, what local dish would you suggest they try and at which restaurant?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you wanted to eat something really typical, you could try anything from the <em>panisses<\/em> \u2013 <em>chichis<\/em> combo (chickpea fritters and deep-fried sweet fritters) at l\u2019Estaque to <em>bouillabaisse<\/em> (fish stew) from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotel-restaurant-le-rhul.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Rhul<\/a>, but we also have some amazing pizzerias in Marseille. Paule &amp; Kopa comes to mind, which is in the old town, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Chez%20Etienne%20Pizzeria%20Cassaro\/444442932290946\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Chez Etienne<\/a> in Panier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Now summer\u2019s on its way, where\u2019s best to go for a swim &#8211; in Marseille or somewhere nearby? Do you have a beach you\u2019d recommend in particular?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I prefer Marseille\u2019s rocky beaches, especially the ones in Malmousque or Petit Nice. Apart from that, there are two good spots in Le Proph\u00e8te: there\u2019s a beach there and a great spot for rock diving too. And then if you still have time, you can take one of the shuttle boats that go all the way out to Frioul, it\u2019s absolute paradise over there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What other activities, either in or around Marseille, would you suggest to anyone visiting the region?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A walk through the <em>calanques<\/em> (rocky inlets) or going to see a match at the stadium. There are so many activities around Marseille that there\u2019s no way I could tell you them all now. There\u2019s Porquerolles, the entire coast all the way to Bandol, passing through Cassis and La Ciotat, and on the other side there\u2019s the C\u00f4te Bleue with Carry, Carro, Martigues, and the inland region where you\u2019ve got the Baux de Provence, Saint Remy, Le Luberon&#8230; The list goes on!<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And finally, if you had to go on holiday somewhere in Europe tomorrow, is there a Volotea destination that you\u2019d like to visit, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve already been to Venice with Volotea (and it was incredible, by the way, right from the moment I arrived at the airport).
