Corsica is the closest of the remote islands.<\/h5>\n<p>I could make out like I\u2019m going to talk about the 10 most beautiful beaches in Corsica, but I can\u2019t! The <strong>ONLY<\/strong> beaches in Corsica are beautiful ones! So, whether you\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volotea.com\/en\/cheap-flights\/corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arriving via Bastia, Calvi, Figari Sud or via Ajaccio<\/a>, here\u2019s what awaits you&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches of Your Dreams<\/h2>\n<p>I may well have travelled to the ends of the earth and laid my eyes (and my towel) on the beaches of Thailand or the Dominican Republic, but looking at the beaches we have in Corsica reminds me that we\u2019ve nothing to envy. Like we say in Corsica: <strong>\u201cDon\u2019t tell a Corsican that Corsica is beautiful&#8230; They already know!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some of Corsica\u2019s beaches are a bit higher in the rankings than others. GEO Magazine ranked <strong>Saleccia Beach<\/strong> as the <strong>9th prettiest beach in the world<\/strong>! And I have to say &#8211; it\u2019s certainly one of my favourites!<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches of Southern Corsica<\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>The Beaches Around Ajaccio<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mare e Sole<\/strong>: There\u2019s a heavenly atmosphere to this little beach, located 33km from Ajaccio. There, you\u2019ll find a straw hut named \u2018La Plage d\u2019Argent\u2019, or <em>The Beach of Gold<\/em>, where you can enjoy freshly-caught fish. And if you opt to picnic, there\u2019s a small forest of umbrella pines providing a spot of shade.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Beaches of the Sanguinaires<\/strong>: From Ajaccio to the Sanguinaire islands you can find multiple white-sanded, turquoise-watered beaches, perfect for children who can stand in somewhat deep water. The hardest decision will be which beach to go to: the Ariadne, the Marinella, the Scudo, the Cala di Sole&#8230; A bit of advice: Google Earth is your friend here, consider using it for a walk along the length of the coastline. Marinella beach, next to the house of Tino Rossi, is perfect for young children. And if you want to watch the sun set over the Sanguinaires, you\u2019re in the right place!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Capo di Feno<\/strong>: This is a beach from the furthest corner of the world found some 15km from Ajaccio, frequented mostly by locals. You have the wild countryside to your back, and nothing cluttering up the horizon. Capo beach is a renowned spot for amateur surfers or kite enthusiasts. It offers a superb panoramic view of the gulf of Valinco. But a word to the wise, that first one I mentioned is accessed via the road that continues past the port of Propriano, but to get to the second one you have to head out of Propriano towards Sart\u00e8ne, then take the D121.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Bay of Cupabia<\/strong>: I first visited this magnificent beach in 1983. There was no road back then, just a path with a wooden gate that we had to open and close ourselves, and it felt truly cut off from the rest of the world. The bay is just as magnificent today, but nowadays there\u2019s a road and two straw huts, so the area attracts a few more people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Propriano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"spiaggia propriano\" class=\"wp-image-13082\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Propriano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Propriano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Propriano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Propriano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches Around Sart\u00e8ne<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tizzano<\/strong>: This is one of my favourite places! This little hamlet feels like the end of the earth! It\u2019s relaxingly calm and there\u2019s a distinctive atmosphere to the air here. You can find the \u2018great beach\u2019 near the Lilium Maris hotel, but what\u2019s more, <strong>4\/5km further down the coastline path<\/strong> you\u2019ll discover a marvellous cove that we found last spring. There\u2019s a straw hut on the edge of the beach that you can get something to eat from, found near the car park.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roccapina<\/strong> <strong>Cove<\/strong>: Another little beauty! Roccapina beach is found at the foot of the \u201cLion of Roccapina\u201d. Flanked by wild countryside, children will find this beach very calm (and actually, so will adults!) Getting there takes about fifteen minutes or so from the Coralli Inn, located on the RT40 between Bonifacio and Sart\u00e8ne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Tizzano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=640%2C960&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"spiaggia tizzano corsica\" class=\"wp-image-13086\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Tizzano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=683%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 683w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Tizzano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=200%2C300&amp;ssl=1 200w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Tizzano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=768%2C1151&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Tizzano-Volotea-2-scaled-1-min.jpg?w=854&amp;ssl=1 854w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Tizzano beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches Around Bonifacio<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Small and Big Sperone<\/strong>: You can get to them via Piantarella beach, 7km from Bonifacio, and it involves a bit of a walk&#8230; (<em>but it\u2019s all worth it<\/em>!) From the car park, it\u2019s 15 minutes on foot. The sand is super fine and the water is turquoise. You arrive at big Sperone first, and then continuing along the path you\u2019ll find small Sperone. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Tonnara Beach:<\/strong> This beach, a few minutes away from Bonifacio, is a surfing and kitesurfing paradise. You\u2019ll find the beach at the end of a path through some wild, windswept countryside, and it\u2019s a bit quieter than its neighbours near Porto-Vecchio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches Around Porto-Vecchio<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Palombaggia<\/strong>: It\u2019s definitely one of the better known, like one of those beaches you see in magazines! Palombaggia beach extends for almost 2km, and has multiple access points. The sand is fine and white, and the water is crystalline \u2013 which you can even walk quite far out into. This beach has been singled out as one of the prettiest in the world. Situated 12km away from Porto-Vecchio, you\u2019ll find multiple (paid) carparks, and also some straw huts nearby.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rondinara<\/strong> <strong>Bay<\/strong>: It has a unique shape, reminiscent of a shell. The contrast between the turquoise of the sea and the green of the scrubland only add to its perfection. Located half way down the road between Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio (about 20km), you\u2019ll need to take a short 8km road through the scrubland until you arrive at a (paid) carpark. When summer\u2019s in full swing I\u2019d recommend getting there early, to guarantee yourself a spot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Santa Giulia<\/strong>: Santa Giulia is another one of Southern Corsica\u2019s marvellous beaches. It\u2019s ideal for little ones as it\u2019s not very deep, and the translucent water brings the beaches of the Caribbean to mind. From Porto-Vecchio, head towards Bonifacio until you get to Bocca dell\u2019Oro, where you\u2019ll turn left to follow a little 8km road. The beach is 2km long, but it\u2019s rather narrow. Here, too, the key is to arrive early.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Saint-Cyprien<\/strong> <strong>Beach<\/strong>: A 6km-long beach with turquoise water, located 10km north of Porto-Vecchio. It\u2019s perfect for children, but also for jet-ski amateurs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Palombaggia-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=640%2C361&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"spiaggia palombaggia corsica\" class=\"wp-image-13090\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Palombaggia-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=1024%2C577&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Palombaggia-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=300%2C169&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Palombaggia-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=768%2C433&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Palombaggia-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Palombaggia beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beaches Around Solenzara<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fautea<\/strong>: This small turquoise-watered cove just a few kilometres from the Trinit\u00e9 de Porto-Vecchio only reveals itself at the very end of the road. You\u2019ll need to park in the carpark near the cork oak forest, at the foot of the Genoese tower, and then walk for a few minutes to get to this hidden gem. Don\u2019t forget your mask and snorkel!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Canella<\/strong> <strong>Cove<\/strong>: This small and wonderfully charming beach in southern Solenzara is protected from the wind and waves. The sand is white and fine, and the water is translucent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beaches of Haute-Corse<\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beaches around Saint-Florent<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Loto<\/strong>: (or Lotu or Lodu): A real patch of paradise. To get there we\u2019ll need to take a boat, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lepopeye.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Le Popeye<\/strong><\/a> (but consider booking in advance)! Setting sail with the first 9am boat is an excellent idea. The boat isn\u2019t full of people and you arrive to a deserted beach. When we tested it at the end of August we were the first <em>Crusoe<\/em>s to get there! There\u2019s a straw hut a stone\u2019s throw away, called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lacabanedulodu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">la Cabane du Lodu<\/a>, which is lovely to spend a while at (but this, too, you should consider booking in advance!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/La-Cabane-du-Lodu-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"le cabane du lodu spiaggia di lodu corsica\" class=\"wp-image-13094\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/La-Cabane-du-Lodu-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/La-Cabane-du-Lodu-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/La-Cabane-du-Lodu-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/La-Cabane-du-Lodu-Volotea-scaled-1-min.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Le Cabane du Lodu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Saleccia<\/strong>: You can get here by boat too, or by 4&#215;4. The trail\u2019s not too long, some 15km through the <strong>Agriates Desert<\/strong>, but it\u2019ll take you about 45 minutes in a \u2018true\u2019 4&#215;4. You\u2019ll be truly cut off from the world, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the sea and the cicadas. There\u2019s also a campsite close to Saleccia beach. Did you know that this beach was used to film the landing scenes in \u2018The Longest Day\u2019?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Le-Loto-Volotea-3-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"spiaggia lodu corsica\" class=\"wp-image-13098\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Le-Loto-Volotea-3-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Le-Loto-Volotea-3-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Le-Loto-Volotea-3-scaled-1-min.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Le-Loto-Volotea-3-scaled-1-min.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Lodu beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beaches of Balagne<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lozzari<\/strong>: At the gates of Balagne you\u2019ll find the large beach of Lozari. The water\u2019s very clear, but children might find it a bit steep to get into.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bodri<\/strong>: Another amazing beach with turquoise water found at the exit of Ile Rousse, towards Calvi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There\u2019s a whole island to discover<\/h3>\n<p>Different beaches will appeal to different people\u2019s tastes. Personally, I prefer wild beaches surrounded by scrubland, even if there\u2019s algae on the beach. Some people would rather sit on a picture-perfect postcard beach, even if it\u2019s swarmed by people.<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, the hardest choice will be where you\u2019re going to spend your stay!
