In fact, it is one of the few in Sardinia that is still a popular destination at this time of year and offers an unforgettable holiday, even in winter.<\/p>\n<p>Despite it being Christmas, Sardinia is the land of the sun, so don&#8217;t expect snow or the arctic cold here. If you are lucky, you will wake up each morning to warm weather and blue skies with not a cloud in sight.<\/p>\n<p>Shows, exhibitions and concerts run throughout the month of December. This unique sight is created by local artisans. It features around 160 characters, with new ones added each year. You can view the &#8220;crib of bread&#8221; at the historic <strong>church of Nostra Signora di Talia<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/21990_19201-e1575278846935.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10020\" src=\"https:\/\/volare.volotea.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/21990_19201-e1575278846935.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another must-see event if you visit Sardinia later in the year is <strong>Autumn in Barbagia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of the island&#8217;s most important events and is hotly anticipated by all Sardinians. Each weekend, the streets of every town in the Nuoro municipality are transformed into a whirlwind of costumes, food, typical Sardinian dancing and <em>cantu a ten\u00f2re<\/em> (traditional Sardinian singing). Culture, food and entertainment take centre stage at this entertaining event enjoyed by families and friends and that leaves tourists in awe.<\/p>\n<p>Sardinia is seen mainly as a summer destination, yet it is also home to wild landscapes and very ancient history.
