Nuremberg is a city in the region of Franconia, in the northeast of Bavaria, Germany. With a population of around 500,000 inhabitants, Nuremberg is the second largest city in Bavaria, after Munich. <\/p>\n
Its charm, its pleasant atmosphere and its wealth of culture make Nuremberg one of the most interesting destinations in southern Germany, famous for its history, tradition and medieval architecture.<\/p>\n
The city\u2019s old town is split in half by the River Pegnitz; on the northern side is the Sebalder Altstadt and to the south the Lorenzer Altstadt. Almost all the sights of the city, rebuilt after the devastating bombings in 1945, can be found within the ancient medieval fortifications.<\/p>\n
The city of Nuremberg has much to offer its visitors. Its most famous monument is the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg<\/strong>, which stands on top of the rocky hill overlooking the city and was one of the most important imperial fortifications of the Holy Roman Empire.
